Arsenal’s clash against Aston Villa was delayed[/caption] The referees could not communicate with the VAR team[/caption]The issue was explained as the referees were unable to communicate with the VAR team.
The communication systems went down completely 15 minutes before kick-off and were only partially fixed.
This saw the kick-off between the teams pushed back by five minutes.
Commentary on TNT Sports explained that the fourth official, Darren England, and one of the assistants, Dan Cook, could hear Michael Oliver.
But the other two members of the team could not hear him.
The Gunners went into the match, losing both games against the West Midlands side last season.
The match at Villa Park last term ended in a 1-0 win for Villa, with the goal coming from John McGinn.
