An attempt by a Republican House member to downplay Donald Trump's attempt to subvert the 2020 presidential election that led to a riot at the Capitol led to a tongue-lashing from " Real Time;' host Bill Maher on Friday night.
In the online-only "Overtime segment featuring the host, Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) d Democratic strategist James Carville, and CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins, the subject of Trump's possible refusal to accept a possible loss in November led to a talking about the 2020 insurrection.
After Crenshaw was asked by the host what Trump will do if he loses in November, Crenshaw conceded the former president did lose in 2020 before glibly offering, "I know the history of it and the history of it was he moved out of the White House. It was a peaceful transition of power and there was an inauguration."
