Flights are set to start as soon as October – with flights running every Monday and Friday.
Tickets are expected to go on sale soon with prices starting at just £23.99.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s country manager said: “We are delighted to be launching a new winter route from Southampton Airport to Amsterdam, providing our customers in the south of England with more choice and connectivity, whether they are travelling for business or leisure and we look forward to welcoming them onboard.”
Amsterdam will be easyJet’s seventh route from Southampton airport after services to Belfast and Glasgow in the UK, Geneva in Switzerland, Alicante and Faro, Portugal, the DailyEcho reports.
The airport also launched fresh new flights to Bergerac and Majorca earlier this year.
It comes after easyJet announced a new route to Paris from a small UK airport for this winter.
Passengers in Yorkshire will soon be able to book city breaks to the French capital, with new flights setting off from Leeds Bradford in October this year.
The twice-weekly service will take off on Mondays and Fridays, from October 28 and will continue through the winter until March 28 next year.
Tickets for the flights are on sale now and can already be booked via the airline’s website for £23.99.
Tom Holdsworth, Leeds Bradford‘s aviation development manager, said the new flights showed an increase in demand for European flights from the airport.
He told the Telegraph and Argus: “Paris is one of the world’s most iconic cities, and this addition to our growing network is a reflection of the increasing demand from the region’s holidaymakers to visit some of the most sought after destinations in Europe.”
Meanwhile, easyJet launched flights to three new destinations from one of its regional hubs, with tickets on sale now.
The budget airline will soon be jetting off to both Reus and Almeria in Spain as well as Malta, all from London Southend Airport.
The new routes will start next spring, with the first flights set to take off on March, 2025.
Meanwhile, this airline is set to relaunch flights from the UK to an “other-worldly” island.
And TUI is also launching more flights to a winter holiday hotspot for the first time since 2020.
EasyJet isn't the only airline launching new flights from small UK airports
Sun Express will start flying from Newcastle to Turkey next summer, taking holidaymakers to Dalaman.
The airline will start a twice-weekly flight from May 4, 2025. There will also be additional flights to Antalya.
It’s not the only airport in the northeast in line for new routes either, with Teesside Airport promising new flights to both Tenerife and Malaga.
As part of his re-election campaign, Tees Valley Mayor, Ben Houchen, promised to deliver the new flights.
He said he hoped to bring some of them in for next summer, if not the year after.
Ryanair is also set to add new routes to Norwich Airport, just months after it started flying from there for the first time.
After launching its first flights there in April this year, to Alicante in Spain, Faro in Portugal and Malta, more destinations look set to be included.
The airport’s managing director Richard Pace said he is hoping to see at least two or three more routes in time for summer 2025.
