@emrata famously not demure, famously not mindful.
In the video, you can hear the random passerby calling out for Emily to, “Put on a shirt.” So, what was Emily’s response? Instead of potentially putting herself in a dangerous situation and confronting him on the streets, she posted for all of her followers to hear how sexist he was being.
After you hear him speak, Emily added Charli XCX’s “365″ song from her new Brat album. It’s easy to tell that the specific spot in the song that she chose was specifically directed at the man on the street as well as anyone else who feels they have a right to comment on her body, “Who the f**k are you? I’m a brat when I’m bumpin’ that.”
Not only was the song choice iconic, but her caption is what really made the post!
“Famously not demure, famously not mindful,” she wrote. It sounds like Emily has had enough of the negativity, body shaming and, most importantly, the sexism. You’d think with a best-selling book entitled My Body, people would know that she isn’t afraid to fight against sexism.
