The Cabinet has decided to offer free French-language classes to students of Armenian background. These classes will be provided through state-run afternoon institutions.
Education Minister Athena Michaelidou explained that this decision was taken because students with an Armenian background are unable to take French during regular school hours, as they are enrolled in Armenian language classes instead.
As such, the government is offering these additional French classes to ensure these students have equal opportunities to develop multilingual skills, just like their peers.
