The introduction of Ideogram 2.0 raises the AI image generator stakes once more, especially as Midjourney just announced an update inviting more users to its platform.
Midjourney as well as DALL-E will be taking notice of their rival’s latest model, coming just a year after they arrived on the AI scene. It’s apparent that Ideogram has raised the bar significantly.
The new version offers an array of customizable options, including the choice of color and style for your generated image, presented in one of five unique themes: General, Realistic, Design, 3D, and Anime.
Ideogram 2.0 pays attention to the finer details of the prompt, particularly with faces, eyes, and fingers, which was an underwhelming feature of the previous version. This is a welcome upgrade, but just one aspect of a significantly improved offering.
Another uplift for Ideogram is how realistic its generated images now appear.
Version 1.0 always delivered on design specs, but with version 2.0, not only are humans depicted in a truer sense, but also there are improved results on objects and places. This moves toward the realm of Midjourney and Flux, but in an evolving AI Image space, Midjourney is more than worthy of a place on the AAA list of providers.
Ideogram’s acceleration does not stop with the new creative functionality, the company is also adding an iOS app, an API, and a visual search facility.
All of this is in the same week as the launch of Grok-2 and the new update for Midjourney which allows users access to a limited free trial to generate 25 images before a subscription is required.
Introducing Ideogram 2.0 — our most advanced text-to-image model, now available to all users for free.
Today’s milestone launch also includes the release of the Ideogram iOS app, the beta version of the Ideogram API, and Ideogram Search.
