Channing Tatum stopped by The Late Show with Seth Meyers on Wednesday where he shared with the host the one thing his fiancée, Zoë Kravitz, absolutely refuses to do with him.
Tatum and Kravitz have been together since 2021 and became engaged last year. The 21 Jump Street star is currently promoting Kravitz’s directorial debut, Blink Twice, in which he stars as a billionaire with his own island and a dark secret. The couple often hits the red carpet together, and now have a professional collaboration under their belt, but there’s one thing Kravitz has sworn to Tatum she’ll never join him in doing.
“The first thing she said when we started getting together was, ‘I don’t do activities,’” Tatum said to laughs from Meyers and the audience. “Like, seriously,” he reiterated. “And I think I laughed, [too], like, ‘Ha ha, okay.’
“And she was like, ‘No, listen to me,” Tatum recalled. “‘I don’t hike. I don’t do any of that stuff. That’s it.’”
Tatum is no stranger to the gym, having indulged in a variety of workout routines to prepare for everything from his role as a stripper in Magic Mike to his action-heavy turn as Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine. But Tatum admitted a few months ago that even he has nothing on soon-to-be stepfather Lenny Kravitz’s stunning commitment to fitness after a clip of the rock star exercising in leather pants went viral.
It’s somewhat surprising, then, that Kravitz’s daughter didn’t get the workout bug. But according to Tatum, his fiancée has another preoccupation which makes her uniquely suited for directing films.
“She’s such a nerd for movies,” Tatum told Meyers. “And on a day off, we watch like three or four movies a day. Like, we just love it,” he said.
Blink Twice opens August 23 in theaters nationwide.
