The Karnataka Cabinet has decided to advise Governor Thawarchand Gehlot to permit the prosecution of Union Heavy Industries Minister HD Kumaraswamy and former BJP ministers Shashikala Jolle, Murugesh Nirani, and G Janardhana Reddy. This follows a request from the Lokayukta's special investigation team for permission to file chargesheets against them regarding corruption allegations, including a mining lease renewal case. The decision aims to ensure a fair process and counter accusations of bias. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar will discuss strategies with Delhi leadership, focusing on countering BJP's moves.
