Glen Powell looks unrecognizable after undergoing a shocking transformation for an upcoming TV series. He’s starring in Hulu’s sports comedy Chad Powers, playing the eponymous disgraced quarterback who disguises himself to join a football team and revive his career.
The Twisters star looked like a completely different person in set photos which leaked on August 21, the day production began in Atlanta. Powell is affixed with facial prosthetics which make him look much doughier than his lean image, topped off with a fake nose, surfer-dude shag haircut, and a rather wispy mustache.

Chad Powers is based on a sketch which originated on Peyton and Eli Manning’s ESPN+ show. Powell plays a former hot-shot college quarterback whose career stalls due to his poor behavior on and off the field. Destitute, he disguises himself as Chad Powers, a talented footballer and affable southern gentleman, and proceeds to muscle his way onto the roster of a struggling football team.
As the eye-popping photos spread around the internet, Powell’s fans heaped praise upon the chameleonic actor. “Instantly interested,” wrote X-user @jpalisade. “Looks like he’ll play out his most popular ‘persona’ in an interesting way.”
“Definitely a Glen Powell-type role,” @SammySwoosh agreed.
Some pointed out similarities between the plot of Chad Powers and a subplot in the 2016 movie Everybody Wants Some!!, which co-starred Powell and launched him on his Hollywood trajectory. In that film, an older adult (played by Wyatt Russell) cons his way onto Powell’s college baseball team in order to relive his glory days.
Chad Powers is expected to premiere on Hulu in 2025, though the streamer has yet to announce an official release date.
