Democrats this week have continued to hammer Donald Trump for his ties to the controversial Project 2025 -- and the former president seems decisively unhappy about it.
CNN reporter Alayna Treene on Thursday reported that Trump has grown increasingly annoyed that Democrats are still linking him to Project 2025 even as he has tried to claim that he has nothing to do with it.
To illustrate the point, CNN played a clip of Trump on "Fox & Friends" Thursday morning in which he once again claimed to have no knowledge of the project, which was drafted by several former officials in his first administration.
"I have nothing to do with it," Trump said. "I had no idea what it was. It was a group of people that got together, they drew up some conservative values, very conservative values, in some case perhaps they went over the line, perhaps they didn't, I have no idea what Project '25 is."

After hearing the clip, Treene added some of her own reporting.
"This line of attack about Project 2025 is really getting under the former president's skin," she said. "And also really frustrating his campaign. They have sought for months to distance themselves from this project even though we know that many of Donald Trump's top allies, including people who are advising his current campaign, are involved in drafting that actual blueprint for a transition."
Treene then added that "this is something that is really bothering Trump" and that she wouldn't be surprised to continue to hear him talk about it.
