SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Park Police has issued a heavy traffic advisory for around the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) and the city of Saratoga Springs on Saturday, August 24. Heavy traffic congestion is expected for the Creed concert at SPAC along with the Travers Stakes at the Saratoga Race Course.
Concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early, carpool, use alternative modes of transportation, and drive sober. The Creed, 3 Doors Down, and Finger Eleven concert starts at 7 p.m.
The intersection at Avenue of the Pines, Route 50, and Geyser Road will have long traffic delays, said Park Police. To avoid this, drivers are encouraged to arrive from the south and have their payment ready in advance for parking.
For the concert, the southbound Route 50 left turn lane to eastbound Avenue of the Pines will be closed from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., said Park Police. Eastbound Avenue of the Pines from Route 50 and eastbound East West Road from Route 50 will be closed at the end of the show.
