A COUPLE couldn’t believe their luck when they won the lottery twice in just three weeks thanks to an easy, quick trick anyone can do.
Neil and Hayley, both from Darwen, Lancashire, bagged a cool £30,000 after signing up for the People’s Postcode Lottery just three months ago.
The pair had only just moved into their new home when they decided to try their luck with the Postcode Lottery—and it’s paid off big time.
Neil said: “We just bought the house three months ago.
“I got a £10 prize the first month and now £30,000.”
But the good fortune didn’t stop there.
Incredibly, the couple’s postcode came up again just three weeks later, landing them another cash prize, although this one was slightly smaller.
Neil and Hayley reckon there’s a simple reason behind their incredible run of luck, and it’s a trick that anyone can try.
Nick said: “We started playing as soon as we moved in”.
The couple’s first big win sparked celebrations up and down their street.
Darwen’s Spring Vale Garden Village, which is split into two postcodes, turned into a party zone as 18 residents scooped a whopping £540,000 between them.
Neighbours halted traffic to celebrate their £30,000 wins, turning the quiet street into a lively festival of joy.
One excited neighbour, Emma, said: “It’s amazing to win with our neighbours.
“We’ve all been talking to each other, and it’s really brought the street together.”
Neil and Hayley aren’t the only ones planning to put their winnings to good use.
A few houses up, mum-of-three Cathy said the cash will go towards holidays she already has lined up.
The mental health support worker is set to jet off to South Africa, the Greek isle of Lesbos for a friend’s wedding, and go on a break with work pals to Benalmadena in Spain.
Whilst their neighbour Ross is planning to treat pals to a lads’ holiday in Majorca later this year.
The vape firm worker said: “I’ve not been away this year. I might organise a lads’ weekend in Majorca.
“They’ve treated me enough in the past, so it’s probably my turn to treat them.”
One another resident has bizarre plans on how to splash his cash.
Overjoyed Mark is planning a new gaming tattoo to celebrate his win.
The dad-of-one already has a mural of artwork covering his right leg, including Pac-Man, Super Mario, Assassin’s Creed, Fallout and Silent Hill.
Now he fancies getting Sonic the Hedgehog to please his two-year-old son – and may include the Postcode Lottery logo in the design.
Mark said:”I like gaming tattoos. I might get Sonic this time. My little boy loves that. Off the top of my head, I might also get the lottery logo in there. I’ll tell the tattooist what I want and he’ll do a good job.”
Meanwhile, a Cambridge mum revealed how she couldn’t claim her entire £1million lottery jackpot because of a “pact” made 30 years ago.
It comes as another couple boasted they had won a hefty £182million on the EuroMillions.
But the excitement was short-lived once they were “disqualified” for a devastating reason.
The software uses a random number generator to pick out winning postcodes from the postcodes players have bought a ticket to enter. 20 draws are conducted each month with an independent adjudicator present, usually on the first Wednesday of the month.
How to enter:
To enter, you’ll need to subscribe to People’s Postcode Lottery for £12 per month.
You’ll then be automatically entered into all draws with your chosen postcode.
If your postcode is drawn and you hold the right ticket, you win.
A third of winnings automatically goes to charity, with the organisation saying it has led to £1.3bn raised so far.
