Trump Jr. says it would be good to have RFK Jr. at an agency to 'blow it up'

Donald Trump Jr., former President Trump’s son, told conservative radio host Glenn Beck that he’s in favor of having independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. take a position in a new Trump administration so he can take a government agency and “blow it up.”

“I loved the idea, love the idea of giving him some sort of role in some sort of major three-letter entity or whatever it may be and let him blow it up,” Trump said Wednesday on "The Glenn Beck Program."

“I think that’s what we need. And so, I think that kind of unity, even where there may be certain disagreements on certain things, I think he could be a really great asset for that.”

Kennedy’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, suggested in an interview released Tuesday that their bid for the presidency could come to an end and that they could align with the Trump campaign.

The former president also said Tuesday he is not against having Kennedy play a part in his administration.

“I didn’t know he was thinking about getting out, but if he is thinking about getting out, certainly I’d be open to it,” the former president said in an interview with CNN.

The former president’s son also said he believes Kennedy is “a smart guy” and that “he’s actually got very good views on certain things.”

The elder Trump unveiled the leadership for his transition team last Friday, which will feature Trump Jr. and his brother Eric Trump as honorary chairs. 

“The 2024 GOP Platform to Make America Great Again is a forward-looking agenda that will deliver safety, prosperity and freedom for the American people. My administration will deliver on these bold promises,” the former president said in a previous statement. “We will restore strength, competence and common sense to the Oval Office. I have absolute confidence the Trump-Vance Administration will be ready to govern effectively on Day One.”
