Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, has now agreed personal terms with Arsenal ahead of a potential move to the Emirates Stadium.
Garcia played a key role in helping Espanyol win promotion back to La Liga last season and the shot-stopper’s displays have seemingly caught the attention of several clubs.
It was reported by several outlets earlier this summer that the goalkeeper was a wanted man in the Premier League, with Spurs said to be at the front of the queue for his signature (Grada 3).
In fact, AS even claimed back in June that the 23-year-old was quite tempted by the prospect of joining Tottenham, adding that Ange Postecoglou’s men had already launched an offer for the youngster.
However, if Romano’s latest update is to be believed, it is Spurs’ North London rivals who are now favourites to land Garcia.
The journalist took to social media to reveal that the goalkeeper has already verbally agreed personal terms with the Gunners and is ready to make a switch to Mikel Arteta’s side if Aaron Ramsdale leaves the club before the transfer deadline.

Tottenham were likely in the market for a younger goalkeeper who would initially serve as the third choice rather than someone who would immediately take over as number two from Fraser Forster.
That might explain why Spurs shifted their attention from Garcia to someone like Tommaso Martinelli.
