FORMER Island Records boss Darcus Beese has admitted he’s the new Dick Rowe.
British music executive Dick famously turned down the chance to sign The Beatles and now Darcus has shared his regret at not snapping up Ed Sheeran.

At Island, he did recruit acts including Amy Winehouse, Mumford & Sons, Ben Howard and Florence Welch. He added: “I sit here and I’m very comfortable in my skin about what we all achieved at Island and beyond.
“I think we were going down a different path with Mumford, Ben, and Florence and Amy, I was kind of a bit snobby with my taste at the time.
“I wish I wasn’t. But, like I’ve said, you can’t sign everything, even the biggest record artist in the world.”
NICOLE SCHERZINGER feels “discarded” by the showbiz industry now she is in her forties.
The Pussycat Dolls singer, who was also an X Factor judge, will next month start a run as Norma Desmond in a Broadway production of Sunset Boulevard following a sell-out run in the West End.
She relates to the character, who is tossed aside by Hollywood and deemed “past it”.
In a new YouTube video with the director Jamie Lloyd, she said: “I’m 46 years old. I’ve never been more strong – physically, mentally, emotionally. I’m in my prime.

But not Kim Kardashian, who made sure all eyes were on her in aisle four as she went supermarket shopping in a skin-tight bodysuit.
The US reality star stopped shoppers in their tracks as she pottered around a store in Los Angeles with daughter North West and her pals.
Kim’s fans pointed out her look appeared to be straight off the catwalk of her ex-husband Kanye West‘s 2016 Yeezy fashion show, where the models wore near-identical designs to her latest outfit.
Given Kim previously admitted the rapper, now known as Ye, threw out all the clothes in her wardrobe when they started dating, I quite understand if she can’t be arsed to start all over again.
