FOODIES are rushing to supermarket aisles to try the “best” Walkers crisps after they finally added a new flavour to its classic range.
The snack giant revealed the launch of Smokin’ BBQ Sauce crisps yesterday and it’s already a hit with crisp connoisseurs yearning for some BBQ.
Walkers has overjoyed fans with the much-awaited launch of one meaty flavour[/caption] You can grab a bag of Walkers Smokin’ BBQ sauce in Tesco now[/caption]A man shared the good news with Facebook group Food Finds UK Official and fans already can’t get enough.
One said: “Omg, these where my favourite”, while another instructed their pal to “grab me some please”.
Another nostalgic user wrote: “My prayers have been answered”, in reference to the discontinued Walkers BBQ Ribs flavour.
And one foodie up in Scotland wondered when they would reach aisles near her.
A different user penned: “I need these” while another claimed they were the “best flavour”.
But the Walkers launch prompted one user to call for the return of Worcester Sauce crisps which suddenly disappeared off shelves.
Since the axing of the meaty BBQ Ribs flavour, fans had been calling for the flavour to be reinstated.
Walkers BBQ Ribs crisps was considered one of the flavours of the decades.
The beefy rich smell wafted from the crisp packet as soon as you opened them.
And its perfect blend of spices, including paprika, along with its smoky zing, made it a firm favourite on the playground.
The new crisps are comparable to the BBQ Ribs and fans can’t get enough of it.
It’ll join fan favourites such as Cheese and Onion, Ready Salted and Salt and Vinegar as part of Walkers core range.
It’s already made an appearance in Tesco and Heron Foods.
It’s available in single packs and multipacks and grab bags from today.
Sainsbury’s will sell the crisps from September 2 and Morrisons is expected to flog packets at some point in October.
Walkers says the new snack is made using 100% Great British potatoes and features a smoky BBQ sauce flavour.
A single-serve bag will retail at £1.25, a Grab bag at £1 and a Multipack will set you back £2 but this is subject to the retailer’s discretion.
Stephanie Herbert, marketing senior brand manager from Walkers said: “For years Walkers fans have been calling out for a BBQ flavour to join our core range.
“We’ve heard those calls loud & clear so we can’t wait for crisp lovers nationwide to try out the brand-new Walkers Smokin’ BBQ Sauce flavour!”
Earlier this month, Walkers launched three new flavours of crisps inspired by classic Heinz sauces – but they’re only limited edition.
The three new flavours to choose from include Sausage Sarnie which is combined with Heinz Tomato Ketchup.
Another new addition is Cheese Toastie with classic Heinz Beanz flavour.
The third flavour is a twist on the classic Roast Chicken but combined with Heinz Mayonnaise.
WE have put together a list of all of the popular crisp flavours that Walker have axed in recent months.
