Tom Brady won't be the only former Patriots star who will be sharing his NFL opinions over the course of the NFL season.
So will Julian Edelman, who's back for another campaign as a FOX analyst. Edelman was on a preseason assignment with Charissa Thompson over the weekend, and as he analyzed the Kansas City Chiefs' chances of winning a third straight Super Bowl, the ex-New England wide receiver took a dig at one of the game's premier quarterbacks.
"It's not up to the Chiefs," Edelman said, as seen on FOX. "We all know what the Chiefs are. They got Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, (Steve) Spanguolo, Chris Jones and everyone. It's up to everyone else. We need to see a Joe Burrow come out and do something, stay healthy and start fast. See Lamar Jackson, who's been on a milk carton in the playoffs. He's been missing."
To be fair, Edelman's criticism wasn't baseless. Jackson owns a career 2-4 record in the postseason and he wasn't available for Baltimore's loss in the wild-card round of the 2022 playoffs. Not to mention, the Ravens were the AFC's No. 1 seed in two of those runs.
Top-tier quarterbacks are held to a higher standard, and Jackson certainly should feel that pressure after winning two MVPs in five seasons.
