Rodrigo Bentancur’s personal trainer, Daniel Fernandez, has revealed that the midfielder is now recovering well and should soon be back to prime condition after suffering a concussion against Leicester City on Monday night.
Bentancur was involved in a scary incident in the second half at the King Power Stadium, with the Tottenham man seemingly being knocked unconscious following a clash of heads at a corner.
He then received nearly 10 minutes of treatment on the pitch and the expressions on the faces of the Spurs and Leicester players suggested that all was not well.
Thankfully, Bentancur appeared to sit up just before being stretchered off the pitch, with Ange Postecoglou confirming in his post-match press conference that the 27-year-old was communicating normally after the game (Mirror).
Fernandez has now spoken about the harrowing incident on Monday, revealing that Bentancur reacted well an hour after the game, insisting that the Uruguayan should be back to normal sooner rather than later.
The midfielder’s personal trainer said about the concussion (via Medios Publicos): “It was a great scare, but it seems to me that he is recovering well. After an hour in the dressing room, he reacted well.
“Today he will continue with some tests that they are going to do and well we’re hoping that everything continues as it has so far.
“I think he was in a good mood and in good condition It’s difficult sometimes to think what may happen but good thanks to God it seems to me that everything is going to be fine, and Rodrigo is going to be in optimal conditions.”

Given how strict the concussion protocols now are these days, Bentancur will likely not be involved on Saturday against Everton even if he passes the concussion tests and feels back to normal within the next couple of days.
As a result, we could see Yves Bissouma back in the side early.
