KATIE Price has been forced to slash prices on her new book This Is Me after a drop in the charts and a surge of bad reviews.
While the book debuted as a Sunday Times No.1 bestseller, sales have dwinled since and it has currently plummeted to 1400th place on the amazon book sales charts.
Katie released her new book just four weeks ago[/caption] The autobiography was marketed as a ‘explosive’ chronicle on Katie’s life[/caption]As a result, the online retailer has slashed the price of the tell-all book by a whopping 25 percent.
That means the hardcover version of Katie’s latest read is now selling for £16.49, down from the original RRP of £22.
In the autobiography the 46-year-old detailed the highs and lows of her life and past loves including her volatile relationship with ex Carl Woods.
The newest tome about the former glamour models tempestuous life was only published four weeks ago and became an instant bestseller.
Back in April Katie made an announcement about the book on Instagram, she said: “This book just tops all others for so many years I’ve hid behind what I’ve learnt, the mask, because that’s my way of dealing with things.
“It gets to a point where it becomes noise. I had a breakdown, the worst thing ever. Now I’ve learnt not to be afraid.
“In this book people will get to see really what it’s like to be me.
“There will be uplifting moments and there will be dark moments where I can put the truth right in a lot of things.”
Her publishers also leaned into the idea that the book would be an ‘explosive’ chronicle, they said: “For the first time, Katie will reflect on her journey through therapy, PTSD, trauma and the trials of living her life in the media spotlight.
“It’s a true tale of survival during a career that has seen her become a household name – sometimes for all the wrong reasons.
“But though this is Katie in her most reflective book to date, it’s also punctuated with the very real drama she’s been dealing with in her life at the moment.”
This heightened the anticipation for excited fans so much so that the book reached the top spot on Amazon’s ‘Movers and Shakers’ chart in the UK before it’s release.
But since it’s release readers have given the book 3.2 out of 5 in the review section of Amazon with many complaining the work did not live up to its hype.
One reader wrote: “I am a big KP fan and had pre-ordered this book. Very disappointed. I found myself skipping over chapters. No detail and not like her previous autobiographies.
We take a look back at the highs and lows of Katie Price's relationship history.
1996-1998: Katie got engaged to Gladiators star Warren Furman – aka Ace – with a £3,000 ring. But their relationship didn’t make it as far as ‘I do’.
1998-2000: Katie described Dane Bowers as ‘the love of her life’ but she broke up with the singer when he allegedly cheated on her.
2001: Footballer Dwight Yorke is the father of Katie’s eldest child Harvey. He has had very little to do with Harvey throughout his life.
2002: Rebounding from Dwight, Katie famously had one night of passion with Pop Idol star Gareth Gates, allegedly taking his virginity.
2002-2004: Katie was dating Scott Sullivan when she entered the jungle for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!. He threatened to “punch Peter’s lights out” when chemistry blossomed between her and Peter Andre.
2004-2009: The jungle romance resulted in Katie marrying Aussie pop star Peter. They had two kids, Junior and Princess, before their bitter split in 2009.
2010-2011: Fresh from her break-up with Peter, Katie enjoyed a whirlwind relationship and marriage with cage fighter Alex Reid. They split 20 months after their Las Vegas wedding.
2011: Katie briefly dated model Danny Cipriani… but it ended as quickly as it begun.
2011-2012: They didn’t speak the same language, but Katie got engaged to Argentinian model Leandro Penna in 2011. He later fled home to South America.
2012-2018: Wedding bells rang once more after Katie met Kieran Hayler in 2013. They had two kids together, Jett and Bunny, before their break-up and divorce.
2018-2019: Katie moved on quickly with Kris Boyson. They had an on-off romance for one year and even got engaged. They split for good in 2019.
2019: Katie was linked to Charles Drury during her on-off relationship with Kris. Charles, who also dated Lauren Goodger, has always denied being in “official relationship” with her.
2020-2023: Car salesman Carl Woods took a shining to Katie in 2020. Their relationship was up and down for three years. They broke up for a final time last year.
2024-present: After weeks of rumours, Katie confirmed her relationship with Married At First Sight star JJ Slater in February this year.
I went to her show and she marketed it by saying it would blow your socks off the things she was disclosing. I found nothing like that.
“It’s her choice what she tells us but it was marketed completely differently to what was produced. More like a reflective piece of writing, sort of a dear diary.”
Another fan added: “I’d start by saying I’m a KP fan, I’ve read every autobiography she has done. I was really looking forward to hearing about lots of things the press have speculated on, that she would ‘put right’.
“That’s not the case. The book skips over major events with little to no detail. “
And a third person penned: “I think she is one strong woman and has always been brutally honest and forthcoming. I loved all her previous biographies but this one falls very short.
“This book instead glosses over her life. I’m not sure if that is because she is censored. I felt it wasn’t worth the money and doesn’t measure up to her previous books. This is definitely no explosive read.”
