PHIL TUFNELL left fans impressed as he managed to keep a straight face after what appeared to be a crude moment during commentary.
England were taking on Sri Lanka at the Old Trafford cricket ground.
The moment happened during England’s Test match against Sri Lanka[/caption]Tufnell, 58, was on duty for BBC‘s Test Match Special, covering the clash’s morning action.
During a conversation with co-host Jonathan Agnew, he was put through his paces so as not to break out in laughter.
Agnew said: “A new technique now. Don’t you remember we had fingering, well now its all about tonguing.
“Hard-tonguing, soft-tonguing and in between, so lots of tonguing going on at the moment.”
Tufnell calmly responded: “How do you do that then?”
Agnew then said: “Hard-tonguing is easier than soft-tonguing.”
To which, Tuffnell said: “Well I should imagine it is. You have a lot of things to think about.”
Agnew then said: “You’re fingering, you’re tonguing, you are all over the place.”

Listeners were in shock that Tufnell managed to keep a straight face during the inadvertently crude conversation.
One posted: “I would die for you, TMS.”
A second wrote: “Has to be a setup.”
A third commented: “I don’t know how Tuffers kept a straight face.”
A fourth said: “TMS is just pure filth!!”
Another added: “Has to be the most composed man ever.”
But the conversation was all about how to play the euphonium – a brass musical instrument that is sounded by blowing into a mouthpiece and pushing valves.
England put in a fantastic performance during the opening stages against Sri Lanka.
The bowlers took three wickets for just six runs before the visitors batters put on a stand to get up to a respectable score.
