New Delhi: MS Dhoni’s future is a matter of much speculation amongst cricket lovers, as the erstwhile skipper of Chennai Super Kings is now at 42. Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in 2020, passed on the baton of captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad for IPL 2024. Through the course of the season, Dhoni’s batting position was also changed due to acute pain in his knees. Now, whether Dhoni will make a comeback with increasing age is yet to be seen, as he will be retiring just before IPL 2025.
On a lighter note, MS Dhoni is currently enjoying a relaxed phase in his hometown of Ranchi, Jharkhand. He has been seen spending quality time with family members and friends. Besides being a great cricketer, the former captain won hearts as many people continued to shower their admiration for him.

In his chat with former India opener Aakash Chopra, even Khaleel Ahmed showed love towards Dhoni. Chopra, during their conversation, showed a picture that showed Dhoni gifting him a bouquet and asked him the story behind it.
“This photo was taken in New Zealand. We were going to the practice ground from the main ground. Mahi bhai was given flowers by his friends. I was walking with him. He passed me the flowers. Mahi bhai is not my friend, not my elder brother, he is my guru,” Khaleel said on Chopra’s YouTube channel.
“Since my childhood, I wanted to become the bowler who took the first over from India since I had watched Zaheer Khan growing up. In the Asia Cup, Mahi bhai, asked me to bowl the first over. I ran so hard, away from the huddle thinking that if I give it time he might change his mind. I think the most important player of a team gets to bowl the first,” he added.
