BBC Breakfast presenter created a frosty atmosphere in the studio after he snapped at Carol Kirkwood during her live weather report.
Ben Thompson, 43, appeared moody and fed up after a cold and rainy weather report – and Carol Kirkwood got the brunt of it.
The always chirpy Carol couldn’t please those around her as she updated viewers on this week’s weather.
Ben and his co-presenter Sally Nugent received bad news from the weather presenter, leaving them in a foul mood.
Sally asked Carol if she would be happily “singing” this morning.
But Carol replied: “You might not be singing too much about the weather when you hear what I’ve got to say, Sal.
“The weather for the next few days is – I’m trying to think of a polite way to put it… not great.”
Ben then snapped: “Okay done, that’s it. We don’t need any more.”
While Sally commented: “Not great. That’s the technical term for it.
“Now Carol, it’s August and it does feel quite autumnal doesn’t it?”
Carol responded: “It absolutely does, that’s a brilliant way to describe it this week Sal, yes.
“The weekend’s not looking quite as horrible as it’s going to be for the next couple of days for the rest of the country, and the south seems a little bit drier than the north.”
Carol continued to describe the “wet and windy weather”, along with the “risk of flooding and disruption” across the country.
She added: “Some of this rain will be heavy and accompanied by gusty winds.”
Later in the show, Carol snapped back at Ben after teasing him about sharing the pictures of him attending Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.

Carol said: “That’s what you think, Ben!”
Sally chimed in: “We’ve got them all, haven’t we?”
“We have, they might be published,” Carol added.
This comes after Carol issued a health update live on BBC Breakfast last week as she spoke out about her “100-day” illness.
The 62-year-old appeared to be having problems with a hoarse voice and a cough as she delivered the day’s weather to BBC viewers.
Praising her for getting through it, Sally quipped: “Your voice nearly lasted to the very end there, Carol, well done!”
Confirming she had been under the weather for 100 days, Carol said: “I know. It’s this pesky 100-day cough. It just keeps giving. It won’t go.”
After Carol confirmed her “pesky” condition, Sally said to the star: “Well get better soon.”
Cheekily, Jon Kay quipped back: “We’ll give you another chance in half an hour and see you then!”
Carol first showed signs that her voice may be having issues back in April when fans were quick to share their worries about her health.
Fans insisted that she delivered her morning report then with a “croaky voice” back then – just over 100 days from her latest update.
Commenting at the time, one fan said to Carol: “Good morning. You sounded a little croaky this morning hope your OK.”
