Sunday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo (as relayed by Sport Witness) have lavished praise on Bryan Gil after the winger’s impressive showing on his Girona debut.
Gil, who has joined Girona on a season-long loan, has seemingly started his spell at the Catalonian club with a bang, starring in their La Liga season opener on Friday.
The club got their first points on the board as they emerged with a 1-1 draw from a clash away at Real Betis, with Mundo Deportivo suggesting that the on-loan Spurs man ran the show.
Gil, who started on the right of the front three, is described as the ‘MVP’ in the game, with the outlet going to label him as ‘the most outstanding player’ in the Girona squad.
It is explained that the winger has adapted very quickly to the philosophy of manager Michel Sanchez, with the 23-year-old performance described as being ‘like a lecture’.
Gil reportedly signed a contract extension with Spurs before going out on loan, with the Spaniard’s new deal alleged to contain £15m release clause, which can be activated next summer (Paul O’Keefe – Last Word on Spurs podcast).
It remains to be seen whether Gil can play his way toward a big move in the summer of 2025.

Tottenham would want Gil to do well during his loan spell so that they can get the full £15m for the winger next summer.
The 23-year-old will be keen to prove a point this season and get back in and around the Spain squad.
