TOPEKA (KSNT) - The city has begun cleaning up debris from last week's big storm.
City crews will collect downed limbs from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. the week of Monday, Aug. 19 in Oakland, north Topeka and Potwin. The city asks that you not put your debris directly under trees or around fire hydrants.
27 News spoke with Tony Trower, the City of Topeka's deputy director of public works, who said you do not need to call them about the debris.
"Be patient with this," Trower said. "We'll get it picked up. It's going to take us a bit to get through all this. But along with our department, the city working, and our contractors, we'll get it all picked up."
The city monitors the cleanup closely to ensure it is all taken care of.
