Pezeshkian reveals proposed Cabinet for Iran’s new government
Iranian media have reported that Masoud Pezeshkian, the elected President of Iran, has introduced his proposed cabinet members to the Parliament for a vote of confidence.
The Tasnim News Agency published the list of Pezeshkian’s proposed ministers on Sunday, August 11, which includes Abbas Araghchi as the proposed Minister of Foreign Affairs.
According to the list, Farzaneh Sadegh has been proposed as the Minister of Roads and Urban Development, making her the only woman in the cabinet. If she receives a vote of confidence from the Parliament, she will become the second woman in the history of the Islamic Republic to hold a ministerial position.
Iranian media also reported that the process of granting a vote of confidence to Pezeshkian’s proposed ministers will take place this week and next week among the members of Parliament.
Masoud Pezeshkian has introduced his cabinet members for the 14th government of the Islamic Republic at a time when the country is on the brink of a serious confrontation with Israel and is also facing significant economic challenges.
The approval of Pezeshkian’s cabinet by the Parliament will be crucial for the administration’s ability to address both the internal economic issues and the external geopolitical tensions.
The success of this government will largely depend on the ability of the proposed ministers to navigate these challenges and implement effective policies.
