PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A person was hospitalized after being assaulted with a large sharp weapon on a mountain bike obstacle course in Northeast Portland late Saturday morning, police said.
Just after 11:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of an assault near the 1200 block of Northeast 92nd Avenue.
On arrival, police say officers learned a person had been riding a bicycle on a mountain bike obstacle course when he was assaulted by another person with a "large knife or machete".
The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Based on witness accounts and descriptions, a possible suspect and another man were located and detained by police.
The incident is currently under investigation.
No further information has been released at this time.
