Classic car drive-in cinema
Want a taste of a bygone era? A drive-in cinema night is coming up with classic and antique cars in the spotlight. The Nicosia-based Idalion Classic Car Club is organising a unique night gathering cinephiles, car collectors and anyone in between for an open-air cinema night. The star of the night, besides all of the classic cars, will be a hit film from 1978 that many know and love.
The Classic Car Drive-in Cinema event will take place on August 25 at the Idalion high school field, with the doors opening at 6pm. Upon arrival, a Retro Party will welcome guests with 80s and 90s music, food and drink sales and an exhibition of classic cars. Those who own antique cars are invited to head over at 5.30pm to park their vehicle and meet others.
Later on, the open-air cinema will commence at 8.30pm screening the beloved film Grease, fitting in with the event’s theme. The drive-in cinema is open mainly for classic cars. A limited number of positions will be available for non-classic cars yet the wider public can still participate without a car as organisers will set up a specially configured space for them to sit and enjoy the movie. Popcorn and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the event and the only thing drivers need to remember is to register their participation.
