WATCH: Viral Video Shows Mob Attacking People, Calling Them ‘Bangladeshi’ In Delhi; Police Launch Probe
The Delhi Police has launched a probe after video went viral on social media platforms showing a group of people being assaulted and called “Bangladeshi” by a rabid mob in the national capital.
In the video which is being widely circulated on social media sites, a group of men, some armed with wooden sticks, is seen chasing and assaulting some people at late night in some unknown part of Delhi, while calling them “Bangladeshis”

The violent mob of men are seen striking the victims with wooden sticks, ordering them to leave the area while hurling expletives, and accusing them of being “Bangladeshi” nationals, the video showed.
“Our Hindu sisters and daughters are being raped in Bangladesh,” one of the accused can be heard saying in the clip.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police said it has taken cognizance of the video and launched a probe into the incident.
A senior police officer said the exact location where the incident took place is being ascertained and efforts are underway to identify and nab the accused.
Notably, a man who slapped and assaulted Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar before the general elections in northeast Delhi, is suspected to be the mastermind of the attack and is also reportedly seen in the video.
However, the police have not yet released a list of suspects, asserting that facts are being verified.
The attack comes amidst the backdrop of political turmoil in Bangladesh where members of minority communities, especially Hindus, have been targeted by protesters following the ouster of deposed former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
According to local media reports, raging mobs have targeted houses and businesses owned by Hindus, as well as Hindu temples, across Bangladesh, even as the country’s newly sworn-in head of the interim government Professor Muhammad Yunus, has appealed protesters to end the violence and help restore normalcy.
