PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- The sighting of a package deemed suspicious by police prompted closures and evacuations along the Vancouver Waterfront late Friday morning.
According to Vancouver Police, the downtown area south of 6th Street between Esther and Columbia was closed while police were on the scene.
Police say locations within a half-mile radius of the area were also evacuated.
Just after 1:30 p.m., police deemed the area safe, with some streets opening up. However, other streets are still closed while police remain on scene.
No further information has been released at this time.
