Chick-fil-A’s newest restaurant opened today at San Mateo’s Bridgepointe Shopping Center with new menu items — seasonal Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwiches and Peach Milkshakes — and seating for 85 diners inside and 25 on the patio.
With the addition of this restaurant, the Atlanta-based chain’s signature chicken sandwiches are now served at nearly 30 locations in the greater Bay Area. The San Mateo restaurant offers dine-in and takeout only.
The franchisee, Reagan Collier, also owns and operates the Chick-fil-A dine-in and drive-thru restaurant on Whipple Avenue near Highway 101 in Redwood City. Between the two locations, she will employ 100 full- and part-time workers.
As with at other Chick-fil-A locations, the chain’s charitable giving policy will focus on contributions to nonprofits that work in the areas of education, homelessness and hunger. For each new local restaurant opening, Chick-fil-A donates $25,000 to Feeding America, with the funds being distributed in the Bay Area.
Details: Open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. six days a week (closed Sunday) at 2210 Bridgepointe Parkway, San Mateo; www.chick-fil-a.com
