NESN officially ushered in a new era of its Boston Bruins broadcast booth Thursday.
Judd Sirott was announced as the network's new Bruins play-by-play announcer. Sirott, who spent the last seven seasons as a Bruins radio broadcaster for 98.5 The Sport Hub, will replace Jack Edwards, who retired back in April after nearly two decades with NESN.
Moments after Sirott was announced as Andy Brickley's new partner, Edwards passed along some kind words to his successor.
"Congratulations to Judd Sirott, the new voice of the Boston Bruins on NESN," Edwards posted to X on Thursday afternoon. "A seamless transition and a perfect fit! A good man, a good friend, and a guy who has left his thumbprints on every rung of the ladder. I'm happy! So should be all the members of the Bruins Tribe."
The Bruins, who reached the Stanley Cup playoffs in each of the last eight seasons, are scheduled to open their preseason schedule Sept. 22, with Opening Night to follow on Oct. 8.
