We HATE living next to popular UK amusement park – it blasts loud & offensive music and shines light into our bedrooms

DURING the summer holidays, having an amusement park on your doorstep might be ideal for some parents.

But Kent residents have been left FUMING by “intrusively loud” music and blinding lights from a local fairground.

Residents have been complaining about Jimmy G’s Amusements in Sheppey, Kent for years.

But things got much worse when the amusement park was granted permission to open rides in 2021.

Since then, locals have become increasingly frustrated by disturbance.

Loud, offensive music being played and bright flashing lights have caused local councillors and residents to voice their concerns.

Local councillor Tara Noe told Kent Online: “The residents of Seaview Mews have bedroom windows as little as 40 or 50 metres away from the fairground rides.

“The rides may run until 8 or 9 in the evening, not 7pm.

“Not only is music being played at an intrusively loud volume, ride operators play offensive drill music, residents have to put up with the N-Word in their windows and in their gardens.”

Residents have also complained about fairground lights “shining into people’s bedrooms” and “enough noise to drown out conversations”.

Another councillor, Chris Francis, criticised the “generally tatty nature of the site”, which can be seen from neighbours’ living room windows.

A planning application to extend Jimmy G’s Amusements’ licence for rides was approved on Tuesday, August, 6.

This has angered local councillors, who can’t cope with another two years of loud noise and bright light.

Chris Francis told Kent Online: “There must not be a repeat of what we, as residents, have had to endure by allowing two more years of this.”

A third councillor Elliot Jayes criticised the council’s decision to extend the licence, saying that “we need to offer relevant protection” to residents”.

Current owner of Jimmy G’s Amusements has hit back at these claims.

Jeremy Godden, who became owner in 2007, denied claims that loud, offensive music had been blasted into neighbouring residential areas.

The owner hit back: “If cars in the car park play drill music they may be misconstruing it”.

“Neighbours know how to contact me, they know I’m in Leysdown six days a week – if they’ve got any issues they can always pop down and see me.”

Jimmy G’s Amusements have been approached for further comment.
