A 4.4 magnitude earthquake hit Kern County on Wednesday evening, a day after a 5.2 magnitude earthquake and a series of aftershocks in the area, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The earthquake occurred at 7:09 p.m., roughly 13 miles northwest of Grapevine, in an area southwest of Bakersfield, and was followed by three smaller aftershocks.
The quake is considered an aftershock from Tuesday’s 5.2 magnitude earthquake, according to Caltech’s Seismological Laboratory.
Wednesday’s quake was felt in the Antelope Valley and as far south as Los Angeles. There were no immediate reports of damage.
