AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Police Department released the name of a 17-year-old victim who died as a result of fentanyl earlier this year.
Austin Police said officers responded to a call for service on the morning of April 13 in the 1200 block of Knollpark Circle. This is where Sienna Contreras was found deceased in her bed after her father had tried to wake her, according to APD.
This is being investigated as Austin's 38th homicide of 2024.
Austin Police said the suspect allegedly involved in the incident is 18-year-old Xavier Buentello. Online jail records showed Buentello was charged with first-degree murder.
Buentello did not have an attorney listed at the time of reporting. KXAN will update this story when we have reached out for a comment.
