EAST NEW YORK, Brooklyn (PIX11) -- Utility poles were seen sparking in East New York, Brooklyn during thunderstorms Tuesday night.
CitizenApp video shows sparks flying from the pole at Pitkin Avenue and Logan Street a little after 9:30 p.m.
The fire department investigated the incident but ConEdition didn’t report any outages in the area.
Utility companies advise that if you see poles sparking to contact your electrical company immediately. They also remind residents not to touch downed power lines because even if they appear to be dead, they can still be dangerous.
