This summer, ground-level ozone levels surged in 10 metropolitan areas of India, with Delhi-NCR being the worst hit, recording 176 days above safe limits. The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) reported a significant increase in ozone levels, particularly at night, posing serious health risks. Even green neighborhoods like Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range and Lodhi Colony recorded high levels. The CSE suggested the need for a robust public information system to alert residents about ozone build-up and its potential health impacts year-round.
