EMPORIA (KSNT) - Get ready to have a smashing time because Lyon's Den in Emporia is hosting a "Super Smash Bros" video game tournament.
Even if you aren't a gamer, don't worry! This tournament is for people of all skill levels.
The event will take place at 4 p.m. on Aug. 18 at the Lyon County History Center located at 711 Commercial St. in Emporia.
A history center spokesperson told 27 News that it is best to register beforehand, but you can also sign up at the door. Tickets can be purchased here.
We spoke with Anyssa Hammond with the Lyon County History Center about why events like this benefit the community.
"It's a little bit unique," Hammond said. "It's something kind of different, a good way to get people in here, but it's also a great way to really capture the culture as well as kind of instill community and just kind of build on something kind of unique, really just help support the community."
Hammond also told us they hope to have this event once a month. More information about the tournament can be found on Facebook by clicking here.
