A SKINCARE addict has revealed the two tricks her grandmother used to keep her skin free from wrinkles until her 60s.
She said as well as defying the signs of aging her grandmother lived to be 91.

She said there are many factors to consider when it comes to aging, but it’s possible to avoid wrinkles even after age 40.
“My grandmother, who lived to be 91, didn’t develop any true wrinkles until her 60s,” she said, writing under the handle LaceyBloomers.
“Someone once asked her about her secret to that and she replied, ‘Garlic and homemade soups.’”
She didn’t reveal if her grandmother had a favorite soup recipe.
However, garlic is a cheap ingredient that can be chopped up and added to almost any dish.
A bag of fresh garlic costs just $4.38 at Walmart.
According to Healthline, garlic has “antifungal, antiviral, and antiseptic properties from allicin.”
The ingredient also contains zinc, selenium, copper, vitamin C, and vitamin B6.
B6 is known to keep skin healthy by boosting collagen production, while vitamin C is common in anti-aging products for its ability to neutralize free radicals and fight damage caused by UV light.
The Redditor said it’s impossible to “control” genetics, but lifestyle factors can be adjusted to keep skin youthful.
“Don’t smoke!” she said.
“Wear sunscreen, cover up whenever you can, and WEAR A WIDE BRIMMED HAT.
“Eat a rainbow: Choose fruits and vegetables that are deep in color, such as broccoli, carrots, beets, mangoes, romaine lettuce, and other dark leafy greens, blueberries, cherries, etc.
“Produce that’s deep or bright in color contains more antioxidants than others.
“We need antioxidants to neutralize the free radicals in our bodies.”

She said it’s important to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and recommended getting as much sleep nightly as possible.
She added that makeup should always be removed before going to sleep.
“Develop a skincare routine that works for you,” she said.
“This might take a lot of trial and error but you’ll eventually be glad you did it.
“Live as joyfully as possible. Take care of your mental health.”
Many people upvoted the post and took to the comments sharing their opinions on the advice.
Among them was one person who said it was “spot on” but heavy drinking should also be added to the list of lifestyle habits to avoid.
Another said living in an area with “relatively less air pollution” can be beneficial for defying the signs of aging.
“I’m turning 40 this year, no wrinkles yet, and some of this list applies,” a third commented.
“Genetics (my aunts and mom all are relatively wrinkle-free in their 60s), not smoking, sunscreen, removing makeup before bed, having a simple skincare routine.”
