JUNCTION CITY (KSNT) - New information is being released following the death of a Fort Riley soldier last week in a deadly crash on I-70 near Junction City.

"We are deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Brycen, a valued member of our team and a cherished friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this difficult time. We extend our heartfelt condolences and stand ready to support his family and friends as they navigate this profound loss."

Christina Ronk, Brycen's wife, spoke with 27 News in the aftermath of the deadly crash that claimed her husband's life last week. She said they started dating in June 2023 before getting married in October later that year.

"He was a very strong-willed guy," Christina said. "He definitely knew what he wanted, he was very determined, very passionate about the Army. He loved everything to do with the Army."

Brycen enjoyed spending time working on cars in his spare time. Christina said he was very closed off but would open up after a while, at which point people would find out how goofy he was.

"I was in a state of shock, I didn't want to believe it," Christina said. "Didn't get told till later that night. He just got the bike and was excited to ride it."

Brycen was born and raised in Greenwood, South Carolina. He leaves behind his wife, sister, two brothers, father and a numerous other extended family members. He is preceded in death by his mother.

"When he gave his heart, he definitely gave it all," Christina said. "He would go to the moon and back for you."

Ronk died on Thursday, Aug. 1 while riding a motorcycle on I-70 near Junction City. His motorcycle collided head-on with a semi-truck. The Kansas Highway Patrol later identified him as the crash victim alongside more information on the wreck the following day.
