TOPEKA (KSNT) - A Topeka laundromat is bubbling up with frustration; one owner said water main problems are hurting his business.
The City of Topeka told 27 News another leak was found in the water main at Southwest 21st Street and Southwest Westport Drive. Water has been shut off in the area since around 4 p.m. Monday so contractors could fix it.
This is the second major issue with this particular water main in just one week. KSNT 27 News spoke to the owner of the Aquablast Laundromat, Tracy Chamberlin, who said water has been off-and-on since last Wednesday. He said it's tough to run a laundromat without any water.
He said he understands water main problems happen, but not knowing when it will come back on is the most frustrating part.
"We can't even tell our customers, you know, come back tomorrow," Chamberlin said. "You start factoring in Wednesday night, Thursday night, Friday night and now Monday night, and basically all day Saturday. It is very painful for our business."
Chamberlin told 27 News the laundromat has no water as of 10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5.
