BJP leader Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur called for Hindu shopkeepers to display their names on commercial establishments to differentiate Hindus from non-Hindus. This followed a row over BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand's directives on displaying owner and staff names during the Kanwar Yatra. The Supreme Court has put these directives on hold.
