Given the way Chris Hemsworth looks (Read: Beautiful enough to be cast as Thor and named People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2014), we would think he’d be chock full of good style decisions. And yet, it’s clear he does not have the fashion sense (nor common sense) when it comes to hair. The Marvel star decided to cut his twin sons’ hair, and the result has fans cringing.
The Australian actor posted a video on Instagram showcasing the look on one son followed by a photo of their matching (or … trying to be matching) locks.
“Hairdressing has always been my one true passion and as you can see the results speak for themselves ????????,” Hemsworth captioned his post.
He gave 10-year-old twins Sasha and Tristan some kind of mohawk-mullet-bowl cut hybrid. And even though at least one son thinks “it looks lit,” followers have started to mercilessly roast Hemsworth’s work.
“What size bowl did you use?” “Step back from the scissors” “Surely [you] can afford a hairdresser for the poor kid. ???????????? or was this a special personal torture so you can show him the videos of abuse on his 18th birthday. ???????????????????????? ” “Don’t care how hot you are. Not coming near me any tools.????” “Oh dad don’t give up your day job ????????????” “Some passions should be nurtured, others should be left to die ????????????” “I take it [your wife] was out and left you in charge. Best get hide before she gets home”
“THIS is why Thor was crying ????????,” one person said, referencing a question fans have been asking since the release of Deadpool & Wolverine.
Hemsworth has not revealed if he also gave his 12-year-old daughter India a haircut, but we imagine followers are hoping he didn’t. The Extraction star shares his kids with his wife Elsa Pataky, and the three tweens made a rare public appearance when he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this year.
Though India sat beside the Walk during the ceremony, she hilariously had no interest in joining her family for a group photo next to the star. And we don’t blame her. Either she didn’t want the paparazzi taking one more snap of her, or she was still in her feels after finding out that she wasn’t doing what she expected to be doing that day.
“My daughter last night was like, ‘Hey, what are we doing tomorrow?’ And I said, ‘It’s the star ceremony.’ She’s like, ‘I thought we were going to Six Flags?’ I was like, ‘No that’s the next day,'” he told told Entertainment Tonight. So we wouldn’t be surprised if she was a bit bummed.
In his acceptance speech, Hemsworth said his kids “endlessly” inspire him for “so many reasons.”
“They are an abundance of joy and passion,” he said. “ … Their ability to live in the moment and to dive into life head first and to have fun and to be joyous and playful is a constant reminder that that’s what life’s about. And it’s a constant inspiration.”
And his sons certainly are able to live in the moment if they let their dad get away with that haircut. But maybe they should leave it to the professionals next time.
