As you may expect from HoYoverse we are about to get the first in what will turn out to be an endless list of updates for its new game, Zenless Zone Zero with the incoming 1.1 update. Just like we get in Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, ZZZ has now had its own ‘Special Presentation’, outlining the publisher’s plans for the game’s first update.
Having had a successful launch there will be plenty of people waiting on all of this new stuff, so what are we getting and when will it arrive? Let’s have a look at what we know so far.
The Special Presentation revealed that we will not have too long to wait until ZZZ 1.1 drops. Arriving on 14th August the update will include you coming up against a violent, militant gang called the Mountain Lions, tempered slightly by the fact they are anime and have tails.
The 1.1 trailer warns us that we will need to look out for the deadly-sounding Jane who will have a special banner you can pull for alongside Qingyi and Seth.
We are also getting a new boss via the new Challenge Mode (Infernal Reap) and Special Episode “Undercover R&B”, which tragically does not include Usher or Beyonce.
Finally, there’s a new S-Rank Bangboo called Office Cui that you will doubtless want to try and get your hands on when the update finally arrives.
Zenless Zone Zero’s urban setting has taken HoYoverse’s gacha mega-success into a slightly new genre and scored an incredible 50 million downloads in next to no time. The company’s strategy of keeping the base game free and basically funded by the whales in the player base is working a treat and HoYoverse is now truly a gaming powerhouse to be reckoned with.
