A Reddit user shared the steps she took to transform her patchy front lawn[/caption] The homeowner explained that it took less than a month for her lawn to transform[/caption]In her post, the Reddit user explained the exact process she used to revamp her grass.
According to the poster, her lawn consisted of tall fescue grass, which had to be de-thatched.
De-thatching is an action similar to raking, which loosens up the soil on your lawn.
She showed the before picture of the grass, which featured large muddy patches throughout.
The Redditor then seeded her lawn, using the amount recommended for overseeding on the product packaging.
However, she did select a higher setting than suggested on her spreader.
She said she added “one extra click” to the device when applying the seeds.
Finally, she used a top spread on the lawn, mixing peat moss into the solution.
Lawn top spread usually consists of materials such as sand, soil, and loam.
For optimal results, the Reddit user recommended waiting until autumn.
She explained that after the summer is the ideal time for growing tall fescue.
According to the homeowner, watering your lawn consistently is also a key step.
She revealed how quickly she was able to see her efforts working on the lawn.
“We saw germination after seven days,” the poster said.
She added that the before and after pictures were only taken 18 days apart.
