WOODSIDE, Queens (PIX11) – A 7-year-old is in critical condition after a fire in Woodside that injured six people in total, according to the NYPD and FDNY.
The flames broke out around 7 a.m. at a three-story building on 37th Road near 69th Street, according to the FDNY. The fire started in the basement and was under control within about an hour, officials said.
Two people, ages 7 and 29, had critical injuries but were expected to live, according to the NYPD. In total, six people were injured, including two firefighters who had minor injuries, FDNY officials said.
Buildings Department officials were expected to do a stability inspection after the fire, city records show.
