‘I’m heading there now’, shoppers rave as new flavours of viral TikTok snack return to discount supermarket’s shelves
SHOPPERS are rushing to a beloved discount supermarket as new flavours of a viral TikTok snack hit the shelves.
The in-demand crisps made a brief appearance in stores earlier this year but have been absent for months.
Aldi has announced that social media sensation Takis will be coming back this month.
The spicy crisps have racked up millions of views online across everything from reviews to ads to everyday fans challenging themselves to take the heat.
The best-selling Fuego edition, known for its distinctive purple packaging, first launched in Aldi UK back in February after rave reviews from the US.
Shoppers were delighted with their arrival.
One wrote: “I’m heading to Aldi to get these right now.”
Another praised: “They have only gone and launched Takis Fuego edition.”
Fuego will now set aisles ablaze once again, along with a new flavour in the form of Dragon Sweet Chilli.
The innovation is said to “provide a combination of sweetness and chilli spice that promise to get the tastebuds tingling.”
Both are available in 180g bags for just £3.49 each.
An Aldi spokesperson said: “American snack sensation Takis caused quite the furore on social media when they first landed on Aldi’s shelves.
“Shoppers will be delighted to hear that the beloved snack will be back on Aldi’s shelves from August 1.
“Takis Fuego offers a combination of fiery hot chilli and zesty lime with a spicy kick that will get tastebuds flaring.
“Meanwhile, Takis Dragon Sweet Chilli boast a combination of sweetness and chilli spice that promise to satisfy any sweet or savoury snack craving.”
However, the store urged shoppers to make the most of it while they can as Takis will only return in a limited run.
The spokesperson added: “Both flavours will be stocked as Specialbuys – so shoppers best be quick, as once they’re gone, they’re gone.”
