A THRILLED parent has shared how she snapped up a bargain on school shoes at a popular sports shop.
The money savvy mum managed to bag her son a pair of black Rockport trainers that initially cost a whopping £47.99 before being drastically reduced to just £10.
A mega summer sale at Sports Direct saw the popular branded shoes drop down in price – leaving parents overjoyed with school’s set to start up yet again next month.
The lace-up leather trainers are ideal for little ones and come in a range of sizes both on the sports retailer’s website and in-store.
The smallest starts at a child’s size seven with them going all the way up to a size two.
All of the sizes come with the huge discount already applied.
The great spot was shared on social media with the original parent saying the offer “may help some moms (sic) out”.
The post quickly caught the eye of fellow mums and dads with many describing the deal as “amazing”.
One wrote online: “Hopefully this post will help some parents. My boys often had this make and they lasted really well, they climbed trees, played football in them.”
A second simply said: “These are nice.”
With many others tagging their pals and begging them to head to their nearest Sports Direct to snap up the bargain.
It comes as a shocking study found the average child will lose, damage or destroy £236 worth of school uniform during their time at primary school.
A concerning 22 per cent of kids will lose shoes before they reach secondary school age – with boys twice as likely to lose a pair than girls.
To combat this issue shoe retailer Deichmann has launched a ‘Back To School’ campaign where they offer buy one get one half prices across all school shoes.
Parents can also try and save money through a huge range of foodie deals.
More and more supermarket chains now run “kids eat free” or “kids eat for £1” offers over the holidays – meaning getting a bargain dinner is simple.
And many of these joints will also offer free colouring or activity packs too, making it the perfect choice for keeping the kids occupied on a budget when you’re feeling a little frazzled.
The Sun has compiled a list of restaurants and cafes that allow kids to eat free, or cheaper.
It includes Morrisons, which is also offering free breakfasts over the holidays.
And, at Asda cafes, kids eat for only £1 – with no minimum spend by the adult required.
Plus, Sainsbury’s shoppers can take kids to eat for a quid but parents have to buy a main meal at the cafe first.
