PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A two-alarm fire at an apartment building in Southeast Portland displaced 15 people and prompted response from emergency crews Saturday morning.
Just after 7 a.m., Portland Fire & Rescue crews responded to the 5200 block of Southeast 72nd Avenue on reports of a structure fire with someone potentially trapped inside.
On arrival, officials say firefighters found flames coming from the building's attic, first level and "heavy fire" on the second level.
This prompted an upgrade to second-alarm, so crews already on scene could search for and properly evacuate residents.
Within the hour, crews successfully put out the fire and no injuries were reported. However, authorities say nine units suffered from structural damage, displacing 15 residents.
KOIN 6 News has a crew on the scene and will have more information later.
