Tieflings are cursed people. Somehow, some way they have been physically twisted by fiendish blood. For some, they are born, whether because some ancestor trucked with some evil entity, or was cursed to bear only demonic creatures. Others are changed by entering pacts themselves with such beings, or cursed by others who had contact with outside forces. A few are caused by magical means that went awry. It doesn't matter what happened, for as soon as a Tiefling is seen in a community, they are either driven off, left out to die at birth, or killed on sight.
