MEGHAN Markle could be ‘plotting a huge political move’ to mark her birthday as she looks to wade into the US presidential election, claimed royal expert.
The Duchess of Sussex will celebrate turning 43 this year as she reflects on how to boost her career and image among fans.
The mum-of-two, who has now reportedly completed filming her new Netflix series centred around friendship and cooking, is set to embark into to political arena, claimed royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams.
He told The Sun: “One thing I do see that will come pretty soon, because of the election in the United States, Meghan is very soon I suspect to endorse Kamala Harris.
“And I think that’s absolutely pivotal, because there’s been speculation for such a long time that she might choose some form of politics.
“Whether or not the Democratic party would welcome her, and in what way she could be useful to them is quite another matter, especially with the title.
“I think she was thrilled when President Biden had Kamala Harris as his running mate.
“It’s only logical to see this, I think, coming very, very soon, and it will be very interesting to see whether she gets involved in the campaign, and if so, in what way?
“I think we can definitely see an endorsement coming, and I think that will be very soon.
“The possibility of a political career has always been there. It’s always been talked about. She’s always been very articulate on issues, especially those dealing with race gender equality, and so on, which are big issues, especially in the Democratic party.”
It comes as Harry and Meghan joined a campaign earlier this year to warn American voter against misinformation in the upcoming presidential election.
The Archewell Foundation will support the initiative to help US voters spot AI deepfakes and fake news.
And, this is not the first time Meghan has been rumoured to enter the political sphere.
In 2021 there was speculation the duchess could be secretly be building links to members of the Democratic Party in a bid to run for office.
Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki even revealed in her memoir earlier this year how Meghan had sent American first lady Jill Biden a box of lemons.
The Daily Mail reported the former Suits actress sent the gift as a gesture of goodwill after their support following the bombshell Oprah interview.
“Meghan asked a mutual friend for help sending lemons to the White House. They were sent to my house instead,” Psaki wrote in her book.
Meanwhile, touching on the royal feud and the likelihood of any well-wishes sent by Prince William or Princess Kate on Meghan’s birthday, the commentator was skeptical.

“The chances of William reaching out on her birthday, because the rift is where it is I’m afraid I don’t see any possibility of that at the moment, and I don’t think anybody basically does.
“Indeed, no one’s explained exactly what happened when Harry was here last. And he and the King were more or less next door, and never saw each other so.
“I think that very unlikely, and of course it is unlikely Meghan will reveal how they spent her birthday, but equally we might get a family photo.
“We might very well get some posts, and they’ll keep their fans in touch, I would have thought.”
Looking forward, the royal expert suspected there will be more American Riviera Orchard products released and promoted.
And, her Netflix show has now reportedly finished filming, with any potential success garnered from that venture “absolutely pivotal” to lock-in a future with the streaming platform.
Mr Fitzwilliams also claimed Harry’s polo series, albeit well produced, will be a flop that he “doesn’t see attracting vast audiences”.
In addition to their personal projects, the royal commentator also believed the Sussexes would “find an excuse” for another ‘faux -royal tour’ following their positive reception in Nigeria earlier this year.
With the pressure of their upcoming business deals needing to outweigh their previous flops, Mr Fitzwilliams claimed the couple could “cause trouble”.
“I didn’t think that they bring up family disagreements during the period that King Charles and the Princess of Wales were seriously ill,” he said.
“Harry did in the recent documentary on ITV. And you have to, therefore, from the royal family’s point of view, hope that the Sussexes succeed in some of their ventures in the United States, because if they don’t, we could have a situation that could involve further books for the interviews which were or might cause trouble.”
Speaking on whether or not he thought King Charles may extend an olive branch to pass on a birthday message, Mr Fitzwilliams was again doubtful.
“I think he might privately, we probably won’t know. I think the rift is such that we’re not likely to see manifestations of this.”
He highlighted the lack of meeting between Harry and his father in May when the duke flew over to mark the 10th anniversary of his Invictus Games.
The expert suggested this could have something to do with “the Sussexes relationship with the press”.
“The side that they don’t want to talk about, which is unquestionably symbiotic with the press,” he added,
“They get a huge amount of publicity, but anything that they do is news, and it still is. And of course they have that as a possible weapon regarding books,” he continued.

Erika Alexander, 54, who starred alongside the Duchess of Sussex in the legal series, believes Meghan, 42, has the courage to take on big causes, after speaking out against the Royal Family in recent years.
She said Meghan has the voice, drive and experience to become a senator – because she has been “an activist” throughout her life.
Asked if Meghan could be a political future leader of this country, Erika told The Sun: “I think so. I think she was doing that before she got engaged.
“She was doing great work as an activist, and I think she’d be a great senator.
“She’d certainly be a great Congress person, And I think it’s a great way to represent not only America and the world, when I say her person, but also Britain.
The actress then declared: “Run run, I’ll come and run that campaign and we’ll get this done. You hear me? We’re going to have a great time and we’ll wear a nice little tiara the whole time.”
“She’s also a diplomat and an ambassador, and so I think she should think of herself that way,” Erika added.
“I did a lot of activism in my life and that’s why I said sometimes things you would do for yourself, you wouldn’t do on the other side of that.
“So I think she’s handling herself very well, and I think it’s also important that she remain herself and really start to continue to stand for herself as an individual so she doesn’t get overwhelmed because that’s heavy.
“I went and checked out Buckingham Palace, that stone thing has been there a long time. It ain’t going nowhere.
“She won’t bring it down, but it does need shaking up every now and then to ask itself what it is.
“And I think since Britain is such a huge part of the world, it has to understand that with that ebb and flow, there’s going to be new challenges and she’s a challenge and I think she’s up for it.”
The expert again emphasised if the couple want to “capitalize” on their new found popularity, they must avoid the Royal Family and work on something “constructive”.
“So I would have thought that if Megan has any political nous, let alone political ambitions, they will keep thing relatively quiet on the front of relationship with the royal family, and just see what happens,” he added.
Meghan hasn’t been to the UK since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in 2022.
However, it was announced last month Harry and his wife could be returning to Britain together for the upcoming Invictus Games.
The ceremony will be hosted in Birmingham, in 2027.
